So this whole bird flu thing rubbles on, lots of headlines about a pandemic and millions dying, the government have only ordered retrovirals for 'key workers' etc.

What do you guys/gals think is this another load of media disaster hyper of the real deal?

Should I be getting a stock of tamiflu a shotgun and a stack of tinned food?

Were you worried about the meningitis "epidemic"? Or the CJD "epidemic"? Or the necrotising fasciitis (not sure of the spelling...it was that "flesh-eating disease" ) "epidemic"?

If you read it in the Daily Mail, you can safely ignore it.

The problem with all this scaremongering is that one day something really dangerous will come along and we'll all just go "la la la, not listening."

Spam, stop it, you're making me hungry

You realise there will still be at least a 90% chance you'll live even if there is an epidemic. People who had the infamous SARS which was going to kill us all a couple of years ago had something like a 98% chance of recovery. A vaccine may improve your chances slightly but its certainly no guarantee.

Of course what makes it bad is that it's so contagious that when a nasty flu strain hits, almost everyone gets infected so that 5-10% of the population who don't make it through alive tends to add up to rather a large number of people. Thats well over a Million people dead in most countries, and then somewhere like China with a billion people, thats an awfully big hole in the ground needed to bury dead people....

I have a box of Tamiflu ready, waiting.

I'm also considering a shotgun ready for the zombie hordes who will be hammering at my door when the plague hits!

Seriously though, I got the Tamiflu from this site, quickly and easily: http://meds4yourhealth.com/?
