Morning,
Apologies for the lameness of this post but does anyone have a set of these roof rails? Are they quiet and good quality?

They seem to make a lot of the OEM bars but relatively unknown over here. They’re about half the price of Thule and have the same size T Track system. They are pretty much universal fitting so no need for fitting kits and different feet when I change my car.

Check out Atera on roofbox.co.uk if you are unsure of their quality. They make excellent stuff. I have an Atera Strada DL 3 bike tow bar rack which is a little dated and heavy compared to a lot of more plasticky Thule stuff and it's been faultless in the 10 + years I've owned it.

As above, Atera are certainly reputed to be good quality.

Personally I have the even cheaper Cruz Aero aluminium bars from the same website mentioned above. They are made in Spain, and are apparently well regarded for their quality and are TUV approved. These are also universal T-track for accessories. A set of bars and fitting kit (feet) was £137, plus £10 if you want the locks. To fit them to another vehicle in the future will need a new fitting kit (feet), but this is only £20, so hardly onerous.

I've got silver ones on the grey Civic, and black ones on the black Skoda. They look pretty decent, they are quiet and have been great for carrying multiple kayaks. I'd certainly buy the same again.

I found them "good", but not as good as Thule.

The aero bars whistled, the end caps less secure. The cycle carrier had bits of plastic which needed glueing on to stop them falling off.

The locks were marginally better.

They lasted OK.

Think Toyota plastic dash compared to Volvo dash - both last well, both function, but there's a je ne said quoi about Thule.

That said, my latest Thule which replaced the Atera has some really st design flaws and missed 'it would be obvious to do it this way instead' compared to my old Thule bars.

Thanks everyone - most helpful. Browsing FB market place and found a fairly local Atera set for £50 so have snapped those up. For that price, I can’t say no.

Good to know they are decent.
