Break Pad Removal

There are a couple of large split pins going through the rear of calliper these hold the pad in place. Remove these, by bending the ends straight. There may be springs over the top of them so be careful not to loose those. You may need to push the piston back into the calliper a bit, just to make the pad lose enough to remove.
Put your grease on the back and refit. It’s the same for the other side. Be careful the first time you apply the brakes as the pedal may travel further than normal as the pads reseat themselves.

Yup.... easy job. I've done mine a few times now.
Tried copper grease, anti squeal shims and chamfering leading edge of pads.
So far nothing has worked. Mine still sounds like a bus when I apply the brakes.
I've learnt to live with it now. But, with my sports pipes, I don't hear the brakes sqealing anymore.

I did exactly the same....nothing. Meanwhile, 6 months later, they've stopped squealing all by themselves.
Mine only make a scream when they get hot, and only under fairly light compression. If I wack them then I don't get any noise, so I'm thinking that when they expand, something is rubbing, and hopefully the grease will help. If not I'll have to bite the bullet and take them back to be sorted, just can't be arsed to drive it 80 miles leave it there all day and then return with my wallet emptied for a niggle. Everytime I waste money on stuff like this it just means I find it even harder justifying to the wife to get the light conversion especially as I may have to sell her soon

Believe me I don't want to but with one 8 year old, and another nipper due early next year, not sure if its going to be possible to use it as a family car anymore. Not sure the wife would fancy sitting in the back. Shame you can't convert the helmet holder to a baby seat
Big thanks for the offer on the brakes. I Need to get a jack first and then when I have given up and the car is sat in the garage I may need that help
Remember changing the brake drums on my 205 when the wife was having our first. Had to take a drill to them in the end, she was not happy that I started doing it when she was meant to be going to hospital at any time!
