After many, many years of waiting, the sequel to I am pilgrim by Terry Hayes has today been released.
I found the first book a cracking spy thriller which was well received by critics and readers alike.
I have just downloaded it ready for a long drive next week and am looking forward to listening.

I preordered this on Amazon on 4th January 2017, naturally, the card I used for the preorder is now defunct, trying to change it to my new one melted Amazons computer and they cancelled my order. I don't think Amazon are used to orders taking so long to fulfill hehe

I’m 30-odd chapters in. Bit disappointing so far.

I'm doing it on Audible and am about 2 hours in, so far I'd call it underwhelming. This morning I'm about to set off on a four hour drive so hopefully it improves.

I’m about 10 hours in to the audiobook. It’s picked up but sounds like I haven’t reached the bonkers bit!

I think I’ve reached the WTF bit hehe

Enjoyable, not a patch on I am Pilgrim.

Mirror the thoughts above, the first two thirds of the book was pretty decent though not as gripping as the first but for the last third it seemed like the author either had a stroke or started tripping and lost touch with reality.

7 hours left.
Given up.
What a disappointment. I've started I am Pilgrim again to make up.
What on earth was the bloke thinking of when he came up with the final third and his editor wants flogging.

I think I’m gonna skip this.

Probably loved pilgrim more than any other book I’ve read - had to rush home from work to pick it up.

I’m 90% through this and if I had another book to read (I’m working away from home) I’d have given up on this.

The hero is indestructible, gifted with foresight and the plot goes from daft to absolutely ridiculous!

Lots of the tech described is just too outlandish to make it believable and some of it is just plain wrong.

But the last bit! Oh my god.

I read this recently and enjoyed most of it. There's a short section that could be from a different book, but can fairly easily be disregarded. I probably won't read it again, where I would read I am Pilgrim again if I hadn't got so many other books on the "to read" pile.

Read this after waiting for ages to be released, last third of the book is like the publishers handed it over to a teenager to finish! Like others I had a few WTF moments. I’ve read Pilgrim about 10 times, I’ll never bother with Locust again!

Preordered with a 7 year wait and I've still not bothered opening the bag it was delivered in. Considering how good pilgrim was I'm not going to waste my time with locust.

Wise choice.
It was seeing this thread come back to life reminded me it even existed.
