Going this Sunday for a few days. Was thinking of wearing my Pepsi (given that it's a GMT). Unwise?

Thoughts welcomed.

You'll be fine, plenty of unlocked super cars around when we were there. There is a TikTok vid of a guy parking a super car in Dubai with his laptop, phone & keys inside. He comes back hours later nothing is touched.

I think you'll be OK
Plenty of wealth on display there, plus any thief will likely have no hands afterwards to keep the watch on their wrist.

Dubai and UAE pretty much the safest place in the world when it comes to crime. People rolling around in watches worth 100k plus you will be rosey. Now if you said London..

Absolutely fine. I hate the place but it’s probably about as safe as it comes for wearing nice watches.

This.
Now if only they had the same kind of deterrent in London...

That's my experience as well tbh. They also seem very strict on driving offences... smile

TBF youre just going to be like 90% of tourists out there - its not uncommon to see actual high-end watches (Richard Mille, etc.)

If you are hiring a car make sure you indicate well before changing lanes (they have auto cameras for this offence) and their speeding fines are strict too, again all on auto-camera - I got a load of fines earlier this year for these.

Also, make sure you take lots of pics of the car on drop-off as even with the big main hire companies fraud is rife and ive had a couple of after-the-fact claims of damage that Ive challenged and theyve been totally bogus (with Avis and Enterprise IIRC)

Lol. Go to any higher end bar you’ll see 20yr olds wearing AP’s. If there was such a thing as petty crime out here I’d hope the crims would be plugged in to risk vs reward.

Lots of things to complain about Dubai, but crime isn’t one of them.
