Sold Through CarWow - Getting Paid

I’ve just been informed by CarWow that my car has sold for more than the reserve price and that the dealer will be in contact to collect the car. From the CarWow website:-

Most payments arrive on the same day, but some dealers have their own policies. Rest assured, we only work with trusted dealers to give you a secure and hassle-free experience.

I don’t like the sound of that at all and would want payment before the car goes anywhere. Has anyone her had experience of selling with CarWow?

Yes. Paid on collection. Money in my account before the car was released.

That’s what I’d hoped. It’s sold to a dealer but not a one I’d heard of so will want to see the £’s in my bank before releasing the car.

That's how it worked for me.

The driver confirmed the condition of the car and phoned the dealer.
I checked my bank balance on my phone.
and waved goodbye.

Looks like it’s sold to ‘Ash Motors Ltd’. Seems odd as they’re in Leeds & I’m in East Anglia.

Don’t know anything about them but hey ho.

Same here. Sold £63k Land Rover via Carwow (they were excellent by the way). The buyer was a main JLR dealer but located over 200 miles away and so they sent an agency driver to collect it. Once he had verified the mileage etc (he didn’t seem to be interested in anything other than that and ensuring there were two keys) the money was in my account and he drove off. Whole process took less than 15 mins.

Distance is not an issue, have bought cars all over the country with Carwow and Motorway. Like most dealers, we pay when we are there, not sure how anyone can try and do it otherwise.
