Time for a first service, ironically at the same time Mrs S's BMW needed a service.

BMW took 5 mins to book.
-'Book Service' on BMW website,
-Enter reg,
-Choose dealer,
-Choose date/time 3 days later.
-Click book.

Jaguar - started to do the same.

-'Book Service' on Jaguar website,
-Enter reg
-'Car not found...enter details manually'
-Model. Select 'F-Pace'
-Gearbox. Select 8SP Auto AWD
-Fuel. Select Petrol
-Engine size. Select.....oh. a few 2.0 options, a couple of 3.0 options.....no 5.0.
-Go back to select gearbox. Select 8SP Auto
-Fuel. Select Petrol
-Engine size. Select.....oh. again, a few 2.0 options, a couple of 3.0 options.....no 5.0.
-Go back to select model. Nothing else it could be.
-Ring dealer, service busy, ask for call back.
-Go back to website, repeat above just in case a miss something...
-same results.
-click online chat function, enter 'can't find my car model on Jaguar Online Service Booking page'
-10 mins going round in circles with chatbot, finally get a human advisor.
-get told you can't book service online.
-send screen print of 'book service online' page of website.
-get told he'd never seen that before.
-get suggestion to try and fill it out.
-explain the 16 steps above.
-get advised to ring dealer.
-rang dealer again. Service still busy.

That was a 31st Oct. Called each day, finally got through on Friday. Systems down, promised call back when working again.

Called again today, booked car in for 29th November, first available date, would be mid-December if I needed a courtesy car.

Set reminder to take spare bandages in case Jaguar continue to shoot themselves in the foot.....

That's the kind of thing that would be good to get into either the mainstream or motoring press but I don't suppose anybody reads much these days.

If a dealer can't answer a telephone, you wonder if they can service a car...

If it’s in finance, stop paying the finance and see how long it takes them to contact you hehe

All that takes is an ‘other’ category , even if they can’t confirm price they could confirm the booking.

I can never understand why companies insist on putting barriers in front of receiving money from people like that.

The one that gets me, having a large bar with one person serving on a busy night - weddings, Christmas parties etc the worst for it. Pay an extra £60 for another server and net another 50% in sales missed because people can’t be arsed to queue.

No, it was a cash purchase.

Tempted to take it to a non-main dealer.

I alas don't think that anyone at Jaguar actually cares.

The car is incredible. The service is atrocious. But then I've said that about my last 5 cars.

The sector is broken - Elon Musk, like the product or not, has highlighted how much.

With around 80% of all new cars being subject to a Leasing Agreement nobody at any of these JLR Emporiums gives a monkeys for the Private Buyer ,
its not where the bulk of their Business comes from and inevitably you are treated as a complete irrelevance . If I were you I would simply take my Business elsewhere .

It's not a purchase route issue (they have no idea who owns my car when I enter the website) - it's a st system and st service issue.

I'd say RIP Jaguar, but it's rife across all brands.

Interestingly, now that the appointment had been made, they've called to see if I'd be interested in changing my (12 month old SVR) car and wanted a chat when I went in. Apparently they have some great deals on the F-Pace P400 hybrid.......
