WhatsApp archiving/compliance software

Hi all,

I need to backup/archive/transfer all of my WhatsApp (messages, media, call history etc) to my PC, so I can then run searches by date range to see what activity took place on those dates (with media intact). The WhatsApp is on Android.

eg: searching for everything between 1/1/23 and 5/1/23 will bring up all threads, messages and calls between those dates.

Does something like this exist out there? Everything I can find seems to be enterprise level, and this is just for myself (still happy to pay though).

You can install whatsapp on the PC, that will get the messages on it. Not sure how you then archive them.


ETA, I've just looked, there is a archive option in the settings, so at least you can save them.

You can archive whatsapp messages. I haven't tried it but I was getting pestered to when I moved to a new phone (android). The next trick will be how to open the archive on a computer so you can search. Whatsapp is centred on the phone and the PC app you can get clears conversations when you log out.

Archive is a text file so no good for compliance as it can be edited.. probably why the government love it as it’s impossible to provide any type of robust compliance
