Hi!

- I wanted to make this post pretty short, but during writting I didn't know it will become that long!

Introducing myself to the members. I am Michal Pastryk, and running ECPS group, which some of You might heard about before.

I wanted to share my very personal project which have been in my mind for years. My idea of building this car was going in my mind for a couple of Years. Over that time I had some DB9/s DBS/s but with no intention to keeping them for long. This one was my ultimate daily car with very personal attention to get it done as I wanted.

Going for all prons and cons of DB9 and DBS, I decided to keep looking in the market for 2011 DB9 with Sportpack and B&O sound system. Looking at the car auctions I was looking only for damaged car with whatever exterior condition as I wanted to modify the exterior anyway. The most important thing was to buy the very good condition base, so I found this one with 20k miles USA car, (as I am from Poland, so only LHD) from sunny california. Engine, suspension, ADS system, sportpack, very well equipped interior was the holy grail for me.

Why DB9 over DBS?
I had both I do prefer for daily use DB9 over DBS- that's it.

Because the fact that I do love DBS look, I wanted to build DBS exterior on it, so later models were not my intention of searching.
After buying the perfect base the original plan was to build pure DBS exterior with twill carbon parts on it. Because I am in the parts buisness I had all original DBS parts in stock. I wanted to paint this car into lightining silver colour- DBS in this colour looks soooooo pure, just perfect!

This one was very difficult and tough decision which I made:
considering building another DBS "replica" (no intnetion of offending anyone, DBS looks just waay cooler than DB9 in my point of view, so there will be fans and haters of this) I made my decision to build something that was never done before.

So all details which are in this car having a reason and in their complexivity matechs perfectly.

Forged carbon - this is the very controversial pattern of carbon fiber for automotive in the world, ESPECIALLY in Aston Martin.

A little about Forged carbon:
- there are various patterns of forged carbon, NOT only one. We are doing very different to Lamborghini Huracan, or OEM Aston Martin. Our forged carbon is handcrafted, not machinery done material. So it totally different reacts to the sunshine and shade. It has deeper 3d effect and the outer finish is just perfectly flat, so makes it looking very elegent in reality.
- This material has more haters than lovers - in the internet. BUT to justify it must be seen in reality, everyone sees my car personally with this forged carbon simply loved it.
- I love the moment of sunset, all these accents starting looking gold - its amazing!

I do really wanted to make twill carbon parts on it, but going to the personal design and uniqueness I went for forged carbon.

Then the loooooong shot happen to me... To find the perfectly matching colour of the car which will look good to forged carbon. It was not my beloved lightning silver. Colour chosing took me around 6 months with tries and chosing something with history. I finally went for DBS OHMSS olive green colour which is super rare and having it's origin in Aston Martin.

The idea of the big grille:
This design we invented by building one of my very first DBS back in 2013 when Aston Martin Rapide S was released. I did love it agressive look.
Fun fact: after mkaing very first big front end Maxton design (from poland) made their version of vantage

This one was the very first DBS we built:

second one:

From the major DBS conversion design, olive green colour, forged carbon extras, and big grille front end.

I also make a mould of the roof skin, so then we made very thin forged carbon panel and bounded on top of original roof construction. I didn;t want to remove original aluminum panel and replacing with carbon fiber. I didn't want to tuch construction of the car.

Here's some exterior pictures on previous standard wheels:

Engine Bay, slam panel and engine valley panel also done in Forged carbon:

About inteior I have done a buch of forged carbon parts such as:

-Center console with ski slope and radio panel,
-air vent frames,
-door handle bars,
-Vantage S design kickplates,
-spedometer frame,
-gear handle frame,

and since the last photo session I added:
gear paddles,
and currently woring on forged carbon steering whee, - to ballance leather and carbon fiber, I decided making only upper section in carbon fiber, I didn;t want making sides and lower section because they are connects to 3 spokes of airbag and mateches leather perfectly.

I am about to retrimm the seats and door panels by adding a little alcantara. I am thinking of adding dark green/ olive green coloured alcantara, but have no idea what accents, just want to break this mono black leather.

Very good post, and even better lurking smile

I've seen your products mentioned here before so it's good to 'see the man' as it were.

That said I'm not into carbon fibre - a nice bit of flame mahogany is more my thing. However...

Bright colours like yellow or red could make it look like a salamander... what about a shade of tan?

HTH!

Hey Michal, nice to see you posting. Good job on the DB9. Any progress on the alternatives for the suite of DB11 forged carbon stuff which was in the works a year or two back?

Thank You appreciated

About carbon-non carbon, colours combination it's all about personal feeling. It's more about complexivity and matching.

NO for bright colours, I wanted to add rotten green/ dark olive green alcantara to match it's elegancy.

Thank You.

DB11 was fully finished, it was customer's car.

But in the meantime I bought DB11 as a project car for myself and I want to make it IDENTICAL setup to this DB9, so exactly same colour, also with forged carbon, with forged carbon roof, many engine bay accents all interior accents. Currently finishing works on my 2019 Vantage With F1 conversion in lime essence and all forged carbon package soon will be posting it. Just a sneak peak:

Another example of the ‘Pastryk product’, as if this chap needs more free advertising for his 9.8/10 (quality) but 15/10 (price) products…

10/10 when he finds a way to mould in the radiator stays…

Thank You for Your recommendation!
Slam panels lovely finishes engine bay.

I didnt make the mounts for radiator due to 2 reasons.
-they are not necessary, I did fit these on my cars, because they are thicker radiators stays in their position fine.
- complexivity of works and their price increasing once the mounts can be swapped from the aluminium panel during reassembly.

Great post Michal,

Having bought a number of parts from you, slam panel, V12 grill etc, I can attest to the great quality and price despite the duty we now have to pay in the UK.

I have to say I was never a fan of the crushed carbon look that is until I saw some in the flesh. It looks so much better in person than has ever been conveyed on camera to my eyes.

Love your DB9 aside from the overly large grill, this is similar to the DBS or V600 'Dreadnought' Vantage ... it seems to work on the DBS but less so on the V600 and your DB9. Having said this, it's each to their own and you have certainly made your car unique. Love the exterior colour and yes the interior needs brightening up with a splash of colour.

Thank You for Your opinion!
I do appreciate that You are happy with Your parts!
For the forged carbon that's true there are many people who don't like them untill tey see in reality. I have been trying with numerous of pictures and records to show their real effect, but never succeed as it really looks.

DB9 large grille I can say similar, to see it in reality to judge. When You stand next to the car and see all these accents, it flush nicely.
I can say that I don't like 2018-onwards vantages untill I saw them in reality by standing next to them - totally different feeling!
