Hehe, mine gets hot but not boiling water and it melts almost instantly, rarely do I have to mess about.

Times I've had people either tell me it will freeze again or watch in amazement but carry on scraping (often with bank card) then days later are doing the exact same thing.

Anyone else just slosh warm water on like me?

Same here. Kettle with warm water poured over windows and the wipers on. Put kettle back in the house and drive off all clear.

But OK if you're breaking up cats eyes so drivers can't see so clearly, it seems.

I see this all the time in Dumfries , people can't be bothered to wait while it defrosts.
I don't understand why it has taken nearly 1. year to get him to court for this .
Surely he should have had the ban within weeks and a fine then as well.
If it had been me I would be sh888ing myself waiting to get to court.

Yep, lukewarm water and drive off. Works unless really cold.

My next door neighbour does that. I have to go out after he's left and put salt on the footpath that he's turned into an ice rink.

Son in law 'defrosts' his car by wearing the frost off with the wipers. He rear ended someone a couple of years ago near home on a frosty morning and recently the car blew its head gasket. Garage found the radiator had fractured. Said they'd never seen anything like it before....

Lift wipers so not stuck.
Start car heaters on full but cold at window so water warms quicker. Hit fords magic buton and finish fag then drive off after turning heaters to hot.

I guess your neighbour is a little careless in his approach! I'm fortunate enough for it all to end up on gravel (the only upside of a gravel driveway), but I don't tend to use that much water.

Surely everyone on here has staff to pre warm the car?

Anyway, a 2l bottle of water left by the front door so its room temperature is perfect.

The advantages of driving a camper van as a daily car, I just set a timer for when I want to leave and the car is nice and toasty when I get in. The warmth from inside has not yet failed to shift any snow or ice from all windows. Probably going to need it tomorrow as it is snowing now and due to do so all day here.

Are these cars with preheaters using the battery or are they plugged in?
