London New Year Parade

Hi,

I was planning to take my girls (nearly 5 and 6.5) to the NY parade.
Is it worth the trip / will it keep my girls attention, or will I simply freeze my nuts off dragging 2 bored kids into London for nothing?

Shout if you know of any other kid friendly events that will be open on NY day too. Thanks
