Best odb2 reader

I bought a cheap motor power odb2 reader which I plugged into our 2001 movano diesel van as it was in limp mode. Sure enough it came back with one code P0711 which is transmission fluid temperature sensor. I put a post on the movano forum and they said that was rubbish as it didn't have one of those and suggested it might be because it a cheap reader.

Is there a more advanced reader worth looking at if I'd have to buy a used one for under £100 ?

I bought the Topdon ad600, 130 quid brand new from eBay.
Great so far on Nissan, Mercedes & BMW.

I've had great success with icarsoft readers, they are a bit more than £100 unfortunately.
