Actor with the most film credits

I saw a clip on this recently. I was very surprised. Can anyone guess (ie without google!) who it is?

I couldn’t figure out how they had made so many yet I don’t recall seeing any of their films!

I'm guessing it's going to be one of the old black and white movie actors, pre-war? They churned out movies on a weekly basis back then like we churn out soap episodes now. Bette Davis made quite a few films in her time.

Depends if "credits" means someone we'd know or the person who always plays an extra in the coffee shop scene type credits.

Are you including made for TV films, or straight to DVD ones? If so it’ll be someone who was successful, but then made any old crap like Nic Cage or Bruce Willis.

And are you talking just acting or all film credits (Directing, Producing, etc.)?

From IMDb so not obscure or Bollywood. If any film credits I assume that playback singers like Mohammed Rafi or Lata Mangeshkar would have the most.

They still act today.

I knew them.

Just in a quick google after my guess I found numerous lists claiming to offer the answer and all of them had different people despite being recent lists.

It will be a bollywood actor - they knock out some bollywood hits in a matter of days/weeks rather than the western approach where a release takes months/years to get from script to release.

Interesting, if you listen to the hollywood reporter, then i wouldn't have guessed as much seeing as they got a bit of a late start to fame and infamy.
However that only covers Western movies and tv shows, the current actor with the most credits who is still alive is indeed from Bollywood.
