I have just had the pleasant experience of one of my exhaust tail pipes falling off, though initially it was grating along the road for a mile before I could stop! I have a standard Cerbra 4.5 exhaust system on it and I am sure the tail pipes are stainless steel but I am not sure if the back box is the same. Would anyone know this, and if so would TVR offer any warranty as I it appears as if the pipes has just cracked off at the weld after only 14000 miles. On a positive note, it sounds better!

We've had this happen twice so far. Andy at APM explained that just simply welding the tailpipe back on is not a solution, as the baffle inside goes first.
If the warranty angle doesn't produce a solution, it's a new box. Quite a few people on PH have fitted sport exhausts, so there's probably a fair few standard rear boxes about. Might also be worth asking around the dealers/indies?
Hiya Lee, same thing happened to my zorst about 6 months ago. Looking at the state of the back box it did not appear to be stainless as it had a fair amount of rust on it. I may well be wrong though. My tail pipes had been welded back on, it seems several times, so it is something you could try but I have a feeling you will end up losing the pipe in the future. Try going to a dealership and see what they say. Mine is 7 yrs old so the warranty aspect was not an issue but I used it as an excuse to stick some sports pipes on it and have never looked back.
All well and good, but if you're decatted already your engine won't perform properly with no back pressure.
I learned this recently when I found my cats were knackered. Removed them but the engine just could not be tuned properly with the sports exhausts, performance was well down.Had to refit a standard back box.
It seems the engine/ecu combination is just not designed to work with no back pressure.

Entirely disagree with this.
Mine is certainly no slower/sluggish than it was before, and the noise is awesome!
I guess it's a case of not all Cerbs are the same.
I welded me own pipes back on. The boxes are stainless (I think) but the welds are pants as standard. You can't Mig weld stainless without causing it to become stainfull, and more importantly brittle. Or at least you can but not the way TVR made them. Buying a new ones a waste of time because the same will happen in a very short time from new as you have found out.
Mine have been on for the last two years and have had no problems since. The trick is to preheat, let them cool very slowly after a well shrouded weld. Ideally, the weld should not be responsible for holding the pipe up, it should be sleeved.
I would take your exhaust off and take it to a proper welding firm rather than a dealer.

This is a reasonably common problem. So I 'agree'.
