Sobering article and documentary out soon.
Not really telling us anything we don’t already know but the value, portability and liquidity of watches clearly makes them an easy target.
Seiko or G shock for me when I’m in town…

Massive deterrent there! Sentences are often an utter joke these daysIn October, the teenager was given a 24-month detention and training order after admitting robbery against Aled Jones and possession of an offensive weapon.

Why was he only charged with possession and not “use of”, attempted use or intended use or something along those lines? In October, the teenager was given a 24-month detention and training order after admitting robbery against Aled Jones and possession of an offensive weapon.

Yeah bet he won’t do that again after that punishment. In October, the teenager was given a 24-month detention and training order after admitting robbery against Aled Jones and possession of an offensive weapon.
Needs some real punishment in the form of a severe beating. Once a week for the length of his sentence.
Why do sh#tbags always think it’s ok to rob stuff off others.
Not everyone who owns an expensive watch has bought it cash and has loads of money.
Got mates with an omega, Rolex, breitling etc and all have saved up or paying monthly.

Couple of young blokes asked me the time (presumably to check out watch)
I pointed them towards the 6ft clock on the wall!
Depends on what you’re wearing. But can simply be a distraction to rob you, as will threaten violence (put you in a hospital etc) if not keen to hand over the wallet/cash.Only happened to me once, at a busy train station

Tried it on me, in a bus station once. Simply brushed past them, not in a mood to entertain jokers.
It’s available to watch now.
Watching currently, as ever with these things I personally think BBC interviewing these silly
s is giving them airtime they don’t need.
Obviously if someone pulls a machete (as with Alex Jones) you’re not going to f
k about. Statistically I should think it’s still rare, it’s impossible to leave the house in London without seeing a Rolex or similar. Between my wife and I we have 5 or 6 expensive watches as I’m sure many others do. But it hasn’t really changed our behaviour, but I don’t go out in SW1 or Chelsea so perhaps I’ll be ok.

Common theme on these crime programs in London. Been watching the Met, this one and others.
Agreed. Nestling between a lack of ability to associate hard work and reward, a resentment of those who do, a total lack of realistic direction in life and a complete lack of deterrent there is a common theme…The Gauge said:

Utter joke that sentence, I thought it was five years for carrying an illegal bladed weapon. In October, the teenager was given a 24-month detention and training order after admitting robbery against Aled Jones and possession of an offensive weapon.

Was clear from the show that it was filmed a while ago during the peak. Do wonder if it’s cooled down a bit. Haven’t heard as much about it recently
I was thinking the same but then saw this this weekhttps://metro.co.uk/2023/12/04/camden-men-tackle-c...
This wasn’t actually Camden “town”, it was in Hampstead, in the borough of Camden
