I have bought a flat in London to use occasionally. The estate agent has told me that, to get a parking permit, I need to change the registered address of my car on my V5 to the flat address which will be different to my permanent address and the address on my driving license. Is it OK to do this? All help appreciated

Any parking tickets, NIPs, VED reminders will all be sent to it, so are you there often enough that you will be able to respond to them quickly enough?

Yep - will be there regularly to pick up post. So you think I’m not doing anything wrong by changing the address on the V5? Many thanks for your speedy reply btw

Used to reg my car at parents when a student and then contracting no one will care or even notice if there to respond to stuff.

Only insurance would occasionally phone to question the difference but for the v5 you can store your car anywhere.

Edit: the contact address for insurance was parents with car stored elsewhere. There was no cross check non the v5 (at least then) whuch was also parents, but they might ask when you take out insurance if its the same address as v5.
