A specialist publication, in the farming industry?

Uhmmm, Beef Jerky!...

Buy a food dehydrator and make your own, cheaper and much better!

A dehydrator makes a better finished product than a smoker and it's easier. You can even make it in your oven (very low heat) but it ties up the oven for a long time.

Edit: Turkey makes for good jerky as well and of course any game.

It's dry-cured beef. I thought everyone knew that, if only from watching the film "Trading Places".

WILDWESTJERKY . co.uk is the best Ive tried. My fave is the Hot Peppered Tenderbite and the Habenero Extreme heat. Great range of flavours and textures. The guy who runs it is Richard, top man.

I bought some from Somerfield about 3 months ago and haven't had the nerve to open it yet.

I only bought it because I remember Eddie Murphy saying 'You want some beef jerky' in a strong african accent in Trading Places and never knew what it was.

yes you do have to pay shipping but it wasnt that much and I never had to pay tax. I tended to buy 3 of these to save on shipping with the intention of making it last a long time. It never did.

anyone else see Ray Mears cooking it the other night. Looking rather nice indeed.

Much better than dried reindeer meat, although most reindeer in a carbona is v tasty. Just dont leave any above the fireplace for Santa.

Just ordered some stuff from www.scottishjerky.com and also some from www.wildwestjerky.co.uk as well.

Would be nice if it arrived before Friday, as I'm going on a camping trip to Glencoe for the weekend

Tillimook (Oregon) cheese is the best, I have some of their 2 year old white cheddar in my fridge as we speak.
