Looking to go around the 17th Dec for 3 weeks.
Anyone know of anywhere I can get a flight at reasonable money? Tried the usuals (lastminute, flycheap or something) but am getting prices of around £700 per person. Jees, only want a flight for 2 people.

Cheers.

If you buy a The Aviator (the film about Howard Hughes with Leonardo Di-Caprio in it) DVD, then American Airlines will provide you with a buy one get one free seat offer.

My wife is looking to take me to New York (lucky me!)next March and bought said DVD.

The password with each DVD is the same "aviator" - so you don't need to buy a DVD for yourself.

However, you do need the web address, which unfortunately I don't have - will come back this evening when I get home...

If final destination is Orlando, I recommend BA. Most flights depart Gatwick and fly striaght into MCO (Orlando International). That way you don't have to switch aircraft three dozen times in the States (which is a pain). Also, the customs officers are just nicer in Orlando (I think Disney put something in the water...)

At the risk of stating the obvious, bear in mind you're going around Christmas time, so expect to pay a hefty premium for that pleasure.

Although saying that, I would have thought a 17th Dec departure fell outside of the Christmas price-hike window.

No. Dec 12th onwards is peak season. Add almost £150 in tax on your flights (per head)and it's obviously going to be expensive. All airlines will go full at that time so get real and pay up. Go to a Travel Agent too.....they actually DO know more than the great-unwashed! (However DON'T waste their time by making them work for nothing.....make sure and give them the business....sayin?

I've got Disney timeshare, so I take the family to Orlando very regularly. Because you're going over Christmas you won't get much less than £700 per person for a direct flight. I find it's too much hassle to get connections. If you do find a direct flight that's cheaper, let me know because you'll be doing better than me.

By the way, we've flown there on many different airlines, but we stick to Virgin nowadays - it's a very good service.
