Back in 2011 I sold my old BMW E21 316, the guy exported it to Guernsey. The registration number was XUD 863X, but it later went onto Guernsey plate 10257 the VIN is WBAAG1203C6983113.

Guernsey don't enter into the DVLA database. Is there a way of telling whether the car is still alive, or been scrapped?

Thanks!

Thank you, have done so. Fingers crossed I get a message back! Not sure what I intend to do with said information, but I just want to know its fate I guess! I suspect it's dead, it'd be almost 42 years old now!

hehe it was surprisingly tidy when I sold it. Only a few very minor blemishes. That was 2011 though!

So the DVL of Guernsey got back to me, which I wasn't really expecting. They said they cannot give out certain information due to data protection but said that the car is no longer registered in Guernsey.

Considering the car hasn't been registered in the UK since its export when I sold it, that means it's either been scrapped or has been exported elsewhere. I highly suspect the former.

A shame but it would be over 41.5 years old now!

Scrapped, or possibly off to France and beyond.

Loads and loads of cars end up dumped in the abandoned hotel car parks - if you're really curious about it then you could go look. smile
