For those that may not get the email / be members / insert other reason here.

TVRCC has annouced three trackdays for 2024. More information in the club shop from noon on December 12th.

Wednesday 29th of May - Brands Hatch Indy

Wednesday 24th of July - Oulton Park full circuit.

Thursday 12th of September - Cadwell Park.

Prices and dates offered for Silverstone and Donnington were not favourable biggrin

I may well make all three.

I think I will give the mid week jaunt down to Brands a miss but appreciate that it will suit a lot of people.

Great to see the TVRCC has delivered with three track-days for 2024 and they used the feedback from the participants.

Hopefully all three will be oversubscribed.

Personally, I’ll probably skip Brands as it’s a long way away for a mid week jaunt…might have been tempted for the GP layout but I understand that isn’t used very much nowadays.

Trouble with a lot of the circuits is the noise requirement.
Silverstone has 102db limit, Castle Coombe is 100db, Thruxton is 90db!!! Brands was 102db static 92db driveby on the GP and the cost was huge.

Brands Hatch GP 102db Static with 92db drive by £628.70

Circuit Track Noise Approx Cost per Car
Donington GP 98db drive by £422.36
Donington GP unsilenced Tuesday or Thursday £514.19
Oulton Full Circuit 105db Static with 92db drive by £507.93
Brands Hatch GP 102db Static with 92db drive by £628.70
Silverstone National Circuit 102db drive by £493.15
Silverstone International 102db drive by £529.19
Silverstone GP 102db drive by £550.33
Silverstone International 110db drive by £611.69
Silverstone GP 110db drive by £616.33
Silverstone National Circuit 110db drive by £655.32
Cadwell 105db Static £293.94
Thruxton 90 db static £204.18
Snetterton 300 105db Static with 92db driver by £322.99
Angleysey International Should be ok 95db static 98 drive by £252.73
Croft 105db static £314.82

I'm interested to see what the prices are when they come available for booking. The numbers quoted look quite steep compared to some other TDOs.

Does TVRCC piggyback on an established TDO, if so which one?

So the louder your car the more it costs you.
Stands to reason as loud cars sure are popular.

How much are the TVRCC track days, if there’s a discount and based on the prices above just one Tvr day might justify the cost of Sprint.

Last year Cadwell was £210 and Donnington was £325.

I think that included a passenger at both venues.

Right, I'm booked on for Outlon Park (with my other half as an extra driver) and Cadwell.

Prices are as follows:

Brands Hatch 29/5
TVRCC member one TVR, one driver £256 for a full day
Non-Member one TVR, one driver £332 for a full day

Oulton Park 24/7
TVRCC member one TVR, one driver £296 for a full day
Non-Member one TVR, one driver £372 for a full day

Cadwell Park 12/9
TVRCC member one TVR, one driver £196 for a full day
Non-Member one TVR, one driver £272 for a full day

Cheaper to join the club for the year and enjoy all those benefits than to book a Trackday as a non-member wink Great value for Summer track days in my view.

Very good value indeed.
If you consider what it costs to race at these circuits as entry fees are now very expensive and track time is usually limited to
1x20 min practice/ qualifying This is sometimes extended to 40 mins.
2x20 min races.
This is often reduced to 15 mins with slower category cars. Then there’s a Yellow flag or full course yellows while they remove the piled up cars and some races end up being 3 laps long!
And remember there can be Upto 30 cars sharing the track.
It’s worth joining Sprint for sure.

I have a decatted Tuscan. It failed 105db with my sharkcan exhausts. I think it may have been the pops and bangs on the overrun that did it, but it was a very loud car.

I replaced the back boxes and silencers with new ones from ACT which were purposely designed to reduce the noise and beat the sound tests (hence the downward pointing outlets).

Not pretty, but I’ve passed both 105db static (Cadwell) and 98db drive by (Donnington)…I don’t even think I was close at either venue judging by the noise of some of the other cars that were out on circuit.

To be honest I’m tempted to buy some sports cats as it’s becoming harder to find an MOT place to pass it without the cats (least in the northwest). Also the car is much more pleasant at motorway speeds with the silenced exhaust than it was. I’m hoping that sports cats and reinstating the shark cans will give a good balance of noise and looks.

It might not be practical, but if you’re close by to a circuit that does static tests you can just pop in and get them to test your car.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings…hope something in there may be of use.
