Saab 93 Turbo Cab - £800
Discussion
After The Great Flounce when we all left here for the fantastic What's App Group (message me), I've tried not to buy too many cars.
Aside from an XJ, my M3, an S Class etc I hardly buy cars at all.
I now appear to have bought a 9-3 Turbo cab - thanks to Ian, the pariah of this place (but still encouraging us to buy rubbish on the What's App).

TBC if anyone's interested!

I'm hopeful that chopping the roof off will have drastically improved it over the woeful Coupe example I once suffered, but at £800 I suppose it doesn't really matter. Is it equipped with arse heating?
It is indeed. The seat and general heating is ferocious.I put it into practical use today.

This car cost me 4.4% of what the M3 cost me.

Nice. I had one about 20 years ago ant it was lovely. Obviously lots of body twist as no roof. Don’t think it ever got beyond 26 mpg ish either. But lots of happy memories
From memory it had odd seat pockets on the front of the seats where your knees are !!!
No idea what economy it’s doing - has to be better than my other cars though surely?! From memory it had odd seat pockets on the front of the seats where your knees are !!!
I’ve not yet opened the bonnet.
I’m getting slightly fond of it.

Mine also gets about 26mpg.
As above, OG relates to the 9-3 that looks a lot more like the outgoing 900 than the tarted up 9-3 with chrome spectacles.
Nice. Was given one of these once as an upgraded hire car for work. Annoyingly the reason for the journey was to take a massive floor standing printer/copier to an office 200 miles away... So, we unpacked the printer from its many boxes, put the roof down and stowed parts on the back seats. If we kept our speed up the rain missed the printer. Problem solved. Lovely, solid feeling car - at a standstill.

Mine has 15" wheels and large sidewalls, so ignoring the scuttle shake, or possibly because of it, it's a very comfortable car to trundle about in on our s
tty roads.

I wish I had the smaller wheels! Cost more to put new tyres on (but not that much), and inevitably it’ll ride worse. It’s still really comfy though.

It’s a great idea to use the flex in the floorplan of the car to smooth out the bumps in the road!

My dad was in the back of the car when I transported the Christmas tree at the weekend. He wasn’t happy when it was pouring down in traffic. How to treat a 74 year old!Edited by 0a on Monday 11th December 23:01
