Has anyone successfully swapped their sports seats out for lightweight seats and if so, what do you need to look out for?

Thanks!

Iirc the cost of getting hold of genuine AM lightweight seats might be the big hindrance ?
I’m sure I saw talk of each one costing in the region of £7k ?!

Worth doing though if you can get hold of some. Wonderful seats, weight saving great support etc, etc. Probably improve the value too due to desire ability too!

If you are looking for weight saving seats to add any value to a V12 V then I feel you may be disappointed especially when you factor in the cost of a retrofit

I'm not looking to add value ... I had them in a previous car and prefer them to the sports seats. Also as I'm looking for a new car at the moment.. and it will open up available options if I can later retro-fit the LW seats..

I saw these come up on FB. Far better priced the oem and this shop has a very good reputation. You can then customise them to match your interior.

I see Works is now advertising a nice looking ( but seemingly very expensive ?) V12S in Flugplatz with the lightweights.

Yes I saw that too… as you say over priced.

In general prices are falling .. it will be interesting to see what happens in the new year…

I was just clarifying my position… as you say.. unlikely to add value , some might say the opposite in fact..

Phil Johnson (username yellow_tang) did this seat change on his V12V.

Don't think he has posted recently, but I remember that he did change from his yellow tang V12V to a white 2nd Century V8V.
Have not heard anything about him since then.

I do produce the lightweight seats.

Seats comes with brackets, ready to fit to existing electronical rails. You need to remove Your comfort seats from the rails and then fit buckets to Your current rails. So the option of moving seats electronically will still be working, forward – backward, up-down. The option of tilting backrest will be lost because these are monocoque buckets.

Duing removal comfort seats there needs to be put resistor into airbag socket because bucket seats do not have airbags. For USA cars passenger occupancy sensorsneeds to be reprogrammed.

I can do any trimming pattern whatever You prefer. Also add door panles infils and carpets to make more complex interior customisation.

That car is a high price for miles imo but it is a manual.

This on the other hand is much better from works, no LWS if thats a must.

Yup agree in value terms that certainly looks a better bet - if only it has the lightweights though.

Its a 7spd manual so I wouldn't say its overpriced at all, indeed its one of the cheapest 7spd's I've seen in quite a while, that said it does have very high mileage for one, as most have less than half the miles, even if in reality it shouldn't be a problem, it does buck the "norm". There is only one more 7spd up for sale on the MD network and it's in skyfall, fat seats and is £5k more, albeit does have half the mileage. Flugplatz is a polarizing colour, but the car pretty much has all the spec boxes ticked if you like the colour.

As you say though the market is in a dire way generally, so all cars really ought to be way cheaper than they would normally be in order to secure a sale right now.

I had t spotted it was. 7 speed..

I’ve got my eye on another V12V S.. If the seller accepts my provisional offer the it’s off to BR for a PPI.

Fingers crossed..

Agree it was a well thought out spec and totally agree with your last sentence.
I suspect Works have it on SOR.
