Hi all,

Not that it really matters beyond the curiosity of my car nerdery but was wondering if there were any production numbers circulating on modern McLarens?

Particularly the 650s but interested in the wider picture too.

Cheers!

With McLaren you also need to look at 'missing' as a good chunk of all P11 cars are in there. The 650S coupe is super rare, less than 30 in the UK. My 12C was registered as an F1! Best estimate is global numbers (which are available) and works out, almost always, at 10% RHD UK.

I had no idea the coupe was actually that uncommon - certainly hadn't seen many but just wasn't really aware - never thought of it to be honest..

Also funny that your 12c was registered as an f1, I have seen one locally here with mcl F1 as the plate so wonder if the same happened there.

Any idea where to find the global numbers?

Just Google and McLaren Life. It's well known there were 3,400 12C's made and 60% were coupes so approx 200-250 coupes in UK at 10%. 675LT x 500 coupes so around 50 in the UK (although I think its 70). But 10% always gets you close enough

To offer some perspective on up to date models; when I was at the MTC recently, I was told production was running at almost post Covid numbers of around 4k/year, with only 1% remaking as UK RHD models, that figure caught me somewhat by surprise.

It's circa 170 coupes and 170 spiders for the UK.............the exact number is +/- a few.......I have an image from Mclaren somewhere I'll try and find.

Find out it;

So, to summarise :-

Total worldwide number of coupes is 191 +169 = 360 ?

Total worldwide number of spiders is 181 + 160 = 341 ?

No, there are more than 652 cars in the US alone (based on recall numbers). Someone indicated 720 were imported.

The LHD numbers on the visual do not include US, maybe EU, or EU+AP only.

Probably around 1,500 600LT globally.

Yeah the estimated numbers are:

USA = 720
EMEA (Europe & UK) = 700
Asia & South America = Under 100

So yeah its circa 1500 units globally for Coupe and Spider with a rough 50/50 split.

About people who own McLarens (or any supercar, in fact) in a place like South America, or say Africa - you do see people from those countries posting on social media about a supercar they’ve imported from Europe or US.
These things break down and need servicing at a dealership. If you’re the only person in the country with a McLaren or Ferrari, how exactly does it work? There may not be a dealership in your country at all.
