"Latest Boot Release and Petrol Cap".
It was me - it is the actual way the boot comes up (realese button same place as always) - in 1999 around June TVR finally got rid of the two hinges, which although they had got smaller over time always looked slightly awkard if the boot fit wasn't 100% perfect.
Blackppol develped a much cleaner and nicer operation which is current today. A massive benifit to this is the fact that the boot not goes vertically up and makes it far easier to get things in.
The roof is by far the easiest to get in now and the fitting is brilliant.
The other item which was done at the same time was the introduction of the new style fuel tank and filler unit. Chimaera (earlier ones) would to some degree or other suffer from poor ventilation/breathing when used on a long run and occasionally owners would hear a loud thud at the rear - This is a vacuum being created and has scared many a big man to coming in to a main dealer thinking the diffs gone or something!
The only answer at the time was to losen the petrol cap slightly (not the safest answer but it worked!
The later type of cap used as well if far easier to get off and all round is a massive improvement. One of the reasons I like the later Chimaera's and Griffiths the most is they they have ironed out most bits and are the most productionised (dare I mention it) TVR's money can buy.
I hope that helps and wasn't too nerdy from me
