Leaking rear window on Fiat 500c

Hi there

My wife owns a 2010 Fiat 500c convertable. The seal between the small rear window and the fabric roof doeesn't seem to be doing a very good job and is letting in the rain. Would anyone know whether the tension between the roof and glazing can be adjusted to keep the seals compressed against the glass. I hate the idea that we might have to pay for a whole new roof.

As far as I can recall it can’t be tensioned any further. Maybe a thin seam of clear silicon sealant would make for a cheap fix? Would be a hell of a lot cheaper than a new roof/glass and if you trust yourself to do a smooth job then it’ll be almost invisible!

I seem to remember a thread on PH which said the glass cannot be replaced if broken and require whole new roof.

I worked in parts for Fiat for the last few years, we replaced entire roofs for leaking rear windows and high level brake lights failing

We actually wrote a few older cars off due to the cost of the parts and labour!
