Anecdotal, mechanical watch issues with electric cars?!
Discussion
Wear nothing but automatic watches and have been driving an EV for 5 years, haven't noticed a thing.
Most of my automatics are Seiko's though, maybe they just make better watches
.
Also, you should avoid puddles with an EV, because, you know, water and electricity don't go well together.

My father gave up wearing a watch in his teens , as according the him watches would run manically fast or slow, allegedly due to him and his personal ‘magnetism’ , I thought this was of course absolute rollocks, but guess what? Certain watches will not run with any kind of reliability when I wear them , I to this day don’t wear quartz/ battery powered watches, as they just don’t keep the right time, autos are a bit better, thankfully.

Standing joke in our house that my wife kills all watches, Garmin watches, Apple Watch, anything electronic just will not keep time, I bought her a Breitling automatic, and it has been perfect. There must be something to this ?simion_levi said:

The right answer here is to just assume this is a problem and get another watch that is magnetically shielded, something like a Rolex Milgauss to wear when driving your EV.
Better an Omega if EVs are the concern, METAS certified to tolerate 1.5 Tesla..
