Is this a speed camera before a gatso
Discussion
Travelling on the east lancs I pulled out from a side road needing the far right lane, I briefly accelerated to create space to move over, in doing so I noticed a speed camera up ahead, but then on a lamppost facing me I noticed a small yellow camera about 50 yards before the speed camera.
There is a bus lane which ends just before this camera, however I didn’t think bus cameras were yellow.
At my worst I was 48 in a 40 according to the dash cam

Not a speed camera then, mind at ease. Thanks PH
You can relax when Intelligent Speed Adaptation is sufficiently developed to control* your speed.* or is that dictate?

ie 'You can relax when Intelligent Speed Adaptation is sufficiently developed to make you safe'.
From some random page I found on the internet:
'The United States has 15.28 CCTV cameras every 100 individuals, followed by China with 14.36 and the United Kingdom with 7.5.' Only third out of 195 countries. Tch, must try harder. Mind you that may not include speed cameras, ANPR cameras and all the other unidentifiable small boxes strapped to every lamp post But remember folks, we need them so we can be safe. Only with cameras can you be safe. Fetch me another 100 cameras. Yes, that's it. Ah, safe.

Yup, we are heading in the direction of a police state. Not there yet but will be if we don't take action to stop it.ie 'You can relax when Intelligent Speed Adaptation is sufficiently developed to make you safe'.

Op, I saw it earlier and decided it’s pretty much guaranteed to be placed there as a cash generator so that you and your colleagues can’t do the perfectly safe but prohibited U-turn at the lights to get easy access to the M60 c/w & M61/M62.
Stupid really, it’ll force everyone around the residential loop once turning right or through Walkden. Cos neither of them routes are clogged up enough
Edit to add: I didn’t look for the one on the other side that will close the loop for the prosecution but I’m certain it will be there.

You could use a loop around the industrial estate https://maps.app.goo.gl/q8HDmd2xmYmwbX8R8Stupid really, it’ll force everyone around the residential loop once turning right or through Walkden. Cos neither of them routes are clogged up enough

However, the queue at the traffic lights at peak times adds to the problem.
The designer(s) of the M60 was clearly inept or high when designing the junctions. I don't get why so many have restricted entry/exit.
Junction 20, no entry east / exit west.
A580 no entry ACW
Junction 16, no entry ACW / no exit CW
Portwood and Stockport is just a clusterf

It's simply because the technology exists to make it possible. Before speed cameras were invented and speed limits dropped and monetised, speed wasn't nearly such a big deal.As for the police state, nothing we can do about it I'm afraid. State propaganda has the majority in its thrall: 'If you're not doing anything wrong there's nothing to worry about' etc. Luckily I don't need to drive inside the M25 these days; it seems like a nightmare of tricks and traps.
