Selling a car on here and a potential buyer is insisting that I provide an up to date vehicle check. More to the point they keep saying it must be from autochecks.co.uk

I've never come across this before, for me it's always been down to the buyer to do whatever checks they want, at their expense. Is this a known scam?

I've gone back saying I may be able to get a friend in the trade to provide proof that it's not written off etc, likely from HPI, vcar, Experian etc but they are saying it must be this autochecks

Or book their Autochecks themselves at their cost. You know, like you do of you want a check on a used car?

They want you to pay for something they should?? Reminds me of the "sellers fee" garages try and charge..

...althiugh, having said that, if every car came with a check (also others, like car vertical) which they coukd xhow the buyer, it might make the car more competitive in the marketplace.
