Corsa D 1.3cdti EGR valve

Son's Corsa has thrown an EML and the fault reader is shouting EGR valve.

I've done a bit of Googling and am getting conflicting views on how much of a job this is.

So, anyone with any real world experience offering advice would be great.

I need to take it off and give it a good clean. How long should it take me, how much blood will be shed and how full will the swear box be?

I've done this job iirc it took me about 3 hours, most of it has to be done by feel you can't see much.
