My friend has a little Westfield. Nothing special. Just the slowest, cheapest little ford powered westfield that money can buy. It's great fun.

Due to a house move and other stuff, it's been in storage (in a barn) for 8 months. Yesterday (house move complete) we attempted to pick it up.

New (charged) battery and new fuel lines were installed. Turn the key. She starts about 30 seconds in. Incredulous looks were exchanged, followed by a bit of whoopin' and a hollerin'. Great.

Let the engine warm up. Get gassed by 8 months of crap being blown out and burnt off (and the Ford lump was pretty smokey to start with). Check the brakes haven't seized (they haven't). Depress clutch. Select first.

Ah.

Apparently the clutch has seized. No problem, we'll jack it up and have a look.

No jack.

Bugger.

So, as two sensible engineers, we take it onto the very quiet road and proceed to start it in first.

What followed required no mechanical sympathy. Repeated full throttle blasts in first, followed by massive engine braking. All with the clutch down.

Finally, finally she frees up. And I chased him home in the Celica......

Mmmmm. Must buy kit car.....

Pity the weathers turned crappy now....

I have a Westfield SE 1600 X/F, but it's not going to be started for a few weeks yet as the engine is in bits, just cleaning it up! Glad to know your mates one started, gives me some hope for a few weeks time!

YOU MUST GET A KIT CAR.......I picked mine up for £4,500 and it's brilliant!
