At work, our highest paid salesman just email me a query on why his pay was less than last month, listing his gross pay and bonus for both months, significant numbers to most of the population.

Quite why he replied to "all@" email recipients is a bit of a mystery :-0

There's no point being top dog, unless the other pups know it, or something like that. wink

Although it's a fail, what gets on my nerves is you'll get another 20 odd people replying to all, saying "I don't think this email was for me"

I remember a manager doing a forward to 20,000 employees of a individuals terrible performance in the company for her appraisal instead of the poor girl she was slating.
That went down well.

I worked somewhere with a lot of staff, some application sent all global staff an email with a video attached, without bcc ing it

Then lots of people started replying, ended up with a really bad mail loop of message boxes out of storage and stuff

What a laugh

I've had that verbally, its quite a small business 40 staff or so.

A colleague here can beat mine though from a previous company, reply to all about how she preferred a certain ethnicity of male, and the reasons why....................

"The sandwich van" email from a few years ago was better yet biggrin for those who remember it anyway...

Two ladies at a place I worked many years ago. One was always being a bit bhy to the other who seemed a bit stand offish and maybe aloof.
The second lady sent an email to the first to the effect "would you stop getting at me, I'm not feeling very well, my nipples are really sore and itchy".
Unfortunately it was sent to the entire office not just the intended recipient.....

Not quite the same thing but
We took on a guy as a floating adminstrator/repair tech/ event equipment assessment tech and he was an older guy, say late 40's to early 50's at a guess.
Bit strange, very flippant in his attitude to being shown how to do his role, underlying tones of what would later become apparent.
First 2 or 3 weeks he was a bit blasé about the whole thing and the one thing our MD insists upon is accuracy and this guy wasn't very accurate.

He turned up one day in a Northern Soul t -shirt and made some disparaging comments about some of our clients ethnicity and that was the start of his downfall. That day he had a performance review which wasn't necessarily glowing and when he did finally get home, he must have been on the sauce pretty much straight away because he had a full on meltdown on the company whatsapp group.
Accused people of going behind his back, how he was going to sort a few people out and give them what they deserved.
And that was the end of his time with us, he was invited to seek employment elsewhere as his services were no longer required.

We seem to have had a few of those recently, but then i suppose if you pay a certain level of wage you have to expect a certain level of candidate

Slightly OT

I worked for a large commercial broadcast organisation. There was one of these to all emails sent, and two people started a sub conversation not realising that they were replying to all.

It went on for a couple of days. Just random chatter. Then one started talking about a night out they’d had claiming they had a hangover over and that when they looked in the mirror they looked like “Alice Cooper”

An Alice Cooper replied saying something like “thanks for the compliment “ At that point the two posters realised their conversation had been going company wide. They apologised to Alice saying something about feeling stupid sending the message to the whole company (which they still were) and that although they had never met they weren’t referring to her, but THE Alice Cooper the rock star.

Alice replied with something like “I am Alice Cooper the rock star”

He was a presenter on one of our specialist rock radio stations at the time.

That’s pretty hilarious in his behalf! Fair play to him!
