Last couple of years its been a take out curry. Or an early dinner then cheese & biscuits with wine later. And then bed around 10pm. Are you doing something similar ?

Heading to snowy Bavaria with Frau GenX for a few days away from everyone after a full-on Christmas. Can’t wait.

As per the Christmas thread, I’m still at a Buddhist retreat, leaving on the 1st January. If you are going to run away from Christmas might as well include New Year’s Eve as well!

No plans as yet, not sure it's worth making any, I don't tend to stay up that late.

I’ll be in NYC as is the tradition for me. I won’t be doing Times Square though.

Then either heading down to Florida for a week of theme parks or jetting to Jeddah for a new role … we shall see!

We’ll be doing the same as the last few years. Take away curry at 7pm followed by a few hours of TV and then bed before 11pm. I absolutely hate New Year’s Eve. Generally, I just want the old year to bugger off into oblivion and leave me looking forward to all that the New Year may bring!

We do the same each year. Some nice cheeses, a few glasses of plonk, then chill out on the sofa and see the New Year in. Love it.

Living, where we do, there is no nice local with a roaring log fire, frequented by a convivial clientele.

Not being a fan of drunk people, I generally don’t go to pubs anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I’m partial to a few snifters myself; just prefer to be around those less inebriated.

NYE, Mrs. DG, one of her lady friends, and I, will go to a coffee shop for the evening. The ladies will be on the cocktails, coffee for me and maybe some food. My refrigerator is well stocked with alcoholic refreshments.

Conversation as always will be enjoyable. Will we be there at midnight, not sure, Mrs. DG has to be up for work a 05:30, knowing her, she’ll give it best shot.

An exhibition in the afternoon (can't remember what though), ice Skating at Battersea, dinner at the Cinnamon kitchen and if the weather is kind, off to Primrose Hill to see the fireworks.

Adult daughters are home from their respective countries of residence.

I suspect Cost Centre #1, who doesn't party, will be at home with us, so maybe we'll go out for dinner in the capital village.
Almost certainly Cost Centre #2 will be out partying with her mates, which is cool.
