The info is in the bible. My copy is in the boot of my car in the garage but I'm sure someone will be along in a minute who has a copy handy.

V8S - 410
S4 - 34

Total All - 2604 V6 - 2194

You must have read that book WAY too much! Four out on the V6 figure and 5 out on the V8.

Er not really Doug, wish I had the time!! If you look I am around 400ish out for the V6 and although 5 out on the V8S according to the Bible I think you will find there was actually 415 made. There was a guy on this site whos car was No 412 of the 415 made!

I think with TVR its always best just to give 'rough' figures as I am not even sure TVR know how many were actually made? At the last count BTW from DVLA there were not many more than 1100 S series still on the road today so less than half left which is interesting?

Oops - apologies to the guy who owns car 412.....was just copying the quote Nothing else is set in stone as far as TVRs are concerned, so I guess manufacturing totals are no different

Emma,
Yeah but this is why we all like TVR nothing is straight forward and run of the mill.........

As for the figures this was something that was discussed on PH a while ago and apparently the figures in the bible are as of a certain date and then a few extra cars were made, I believe.

So all is well at BA now then.........? hope to catch up with you and Kevin at the next meet.

I stand corrected! It seems that 7 hours in front of spreadsheets has taken it's toll today. Need more coffee.

Agree with 100%

Situation with BA still very fragile but eh! I'm on leave now so......

Look forward to catching up with you at the next meet too....hope it's soon...still very hacked off at not making SCH3. At last the beast is back on the road (service permitting) and seem to have missed every event going......

It also depends how the car is registered with the DVLA on numbers left....

Some are registerd as just TVRs so the 280s, 290s and what ever the V8S is registered as will not throw up the total number....

Just me spoiling the party

I think that the production figures are a very rough guess at best. The split between S1, S2, S3 (not forgetting a number of S1.5) is an estimation as production overlapped.

Based on TVR's record keeping at the time, I think it would be more accurate to say that they made SOME.

Hi Steve, yeah I am aware of that, the guy that got the figures from the DVLA got the numbers of 280s, 290s and V8S which seem to be as they are on most V5's so figure should be pretty accurate but does seem low so who knows??? Wouldnt surprise me to find out that TVR made the production figures higher to show they were doing better than they were!!

See you in London on Sunday..........

the one on Ebay looks a good example and its dark red with cream leather. Seems like its been owned by the guy for the last 10 years so should have been well looked after?

Lorian, its in Petworth (not that far from me) so if you want someone to go and have a look at it with you let me know I can pop along with you no worries, always willing to help. I have a pretty good idea of what to look out for and can give you a good idea of whether its worth what he wants....

Let me know anyway.

Not sure Tim, your dad was involved in the discussion with him on how he knew but as always a definitive answer didnt come IIRC.

As said above, god knows how many S series were actually built, DVLA says there are less than half of what TVR say they built, actually on the road now so go figure. Anybody confident TVR didnt make up the figures to make it look like they were doing better than they were...........er I dont, it was the same with BHP figures they were always inflated too.......!

Would be interesting to find out though, but not sure we ever will....!

later
