Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a site in Northumberland, between Bamburgh to the North and Amble to the South. Must be suitable for a touring caravan and allow children too. Ideally within 10-15 mins drive of the coast.

Thanks in advance.

Are you a camping and caravan club member? Their one in Beadnell is good, just across the road from the sea, and a couple of nice pubs for eating in the village.

Edited to add- I've just checked and it's open to non members too.

One to avoid is the site at Budle Bay lower down the hill - the only site that we've left early. Absolutely crammed in, filthy facilities, and very little suitable dog walks from the site. And it was one of the most expensive that we've stayed in. Run away!

/rename to avoid contravening name and shame.

We rarely use sites, but did actually stay a couple of nights at Westfield Paddock, just inland from Seahouses, last year. It's near a much bigger one, but that one didn't appeal at all.
I seem to recall Westfield Paddock being quite pleasant.

Oh, edited to add, good walks/dog walks direct from the back of the site, in case that's a requirement.
Edited again... The gaffer just told me it's adults only. Oops. Sorry.

We stayed at Dunstan Hill Camping and Caravanning Club Site a year or so ago and it's a great location - 10 minute walk to the beach and plenty of walks in the area - you can see the ruin of Dunstanburgh Castle from the site

It's a few miles north of Bamburgh so it might not be quite right for you, but the Barn At Beal is a really good site, we've stayed there several times, it's right by the road over the causeway to Holy Island. It can be a bit windy sometimes, so best to check the weather forecast before you put any awnings up.

The barn at Beal does a cracking breakfast!
