I've just bought a 488 spider and I reversed onto a friend's driveway with the drivers window down and then walked inside clicking the lock button as I walked away. I was obviously very surprised to come out and find the window will still fully down an hour later.

Does the 488 not auto-close the windows when you press the lock button? Even my 2006 TVR does this lol!

I think from memory of mine (and virtually every other car I’ve owned in the last 10 years) you have to hold the close button down until the windows are all of the way up. This allows he option of locking and alarming - leaving windows open (microwave alarm- often did this with mine) or partially/fully closing.
Never known any car where one ‘click’ closes everything (but never owned a TVR)

So I just went outside and tried this and still no joy. With the driver's window down I tried pressing and holding the button, double-clicking it and locking unlocking and holding and still no joy.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I read something online about "car wash mode"?

Got me doubting myself and memory now!
The car wash mode shouldn’t be relevant and only reflects the car being left in neutral when turned off (no handbrake applied).

Does the auto window up work when in the car? I.E. if ignition on does the quick flick of the window switch (rather than having to hold) have the windows fully opening/closing as per the manual? If so then the car had likely had a flat or disconnected battery at some point and lost the window positions. I think you can reset this by fully closing and holding button for 5 seconds and then repeating on opening. Maybe this may also affect the auto closing in the remote? What does the owners manual say?

The manual is pretty useless to be honest, It just gives description of how to use the buttons.

The auto Windows up and down both work correctly as they should, it is just the closure on locking that isn't doing anything. I've messaged the dealer as I've tried everything I could find online.
