The weather a the moment in Holland....

People are requested to stay inside. There is a speed measured of 130 km/h... Trains don't ride, several bridges are closed...A car is blown into the water. Roofs are gone... One stupid came to close to the sea and is blown into it... Trees came down...

It's a mess...
And I want to ride my Tiv!!!

I just heard they keep/kept all the airplanes at Schiphol at the groud.

We've got storms in the UK too at the mo.

Been out in the garden this morning putting things away and propping up the fence.

Was going to go out today but decided against it.

I think I'll put a DVD on. Blast from the past, Die Hard 2.

I've just come down from the roof after re-affixing my satellite dish. Seems to be less windy now, so hopefully it'll stay put long enough for me to see the rest of the footie on SS1.

Yep, lost a couple of tiles from the roof and the trees took a battering. Several huge branches down and that's going to be a chainsaw job. Poplar tree in the garden worst off- about 1/3rd of it came down which is a bit of a pisser for the barn owl that was living in the trunk.

Lost a tree across the driveway last night. Luckily missed the house, cars and over head cables (with the valuable cars being tucked way in the garage).

Still not all bad. I get to hire a chainsaw tomorrow! vroooooom, vrooooooooooooom

Bugger. 3 ridge tiles several slates and a few cracked. 3 year old house! Nice to know lard is now a main component in cement.

Driving home from "Up T'North" this morning was entertaining. Most of the A roads were like obsticale courses, and the nearly 2 ton volvo was getting pushed about quite a lot. Arrived home to find a devistated garden but all the fences were still standing bar one, the rabbit was more than a little shaken though

A tree crushed a poor chaps van in our street. Luckily no-one was in or around it at the time.

Just got the call, missus, daughter, neice 'stranded' in London - trains not running north - lines down, etc, etc. Getting taxi to Luton to get the last train North - should pick em up in Nottingham about 2300hrs- better put chardonnay back in the fridge - sigh..

We had a power cut just before the weather on Countryfile and it came back on about 30 mins ago!

Next door's garage door had buckled and was swinging inside her garage, luckily I sorted my garage door out before it copied the next door neighbours one and mashed the front end of my westfield!

we came back from a week in Ireland yesterday.. a complete mare with the ferries, almost all of them canceled, got out on a bout the only boat yesterday.. checked in at 15:00 left on a boat at 22:30... not fun spending all that time stuck in a packed discovery in a rainsaoked car park with a 5month old in the car

eventually got home at 6am thismorning after a roalercoaster drive down the a5....

Well I woke up to find my garage roof in the garden and no electricty , along with fact that we took our range out yesterday for some kitchen improvements (good planning) therefore no central heating, hot water or power!!!. Hope the insurance co. are quick about the garage roof.

I got away with no damage other than a strip of felt of the shed roof , living in a valley has its advantages

Yes but being on the top of a hill means we get fantastic views

20 miles to the N/NW
10 miles to the south
several million miles to the stars through my garage roof!

Drove back down from the midlands to london this afternoon. Artic on the M40 on it's side straddling the central reservation, then a massive diesel spill on the M25 closing 2 of 4 lanes...

A 1hr journey into 2 1/2 hours.

Still, home safe which is what counts
