My D750 had a shutter problem fixed under warranty a few months ago, all seemed good when I got it back, I’m off on my hols and hoped to spend a bit of time playing with it, but first time I tries to use it I’m getting “err” displayed, a quick google suggests a possible problem with connections between body and lens, which I have cleaned.
Any advice on other possible causes?
Thanks
G

The contacts is indeed the go-to root cause for this issue - it was the same on my D850.

Do you have an alternate lens to try?

No, I’m kicking myself for not bringing another lens!

I've had a dud card give this error as well. Try another card if you have one.

One fix that might work is to power down and remove the battery for a minute or so.

Have you tried taking a picture regardless of the ERR message? On my D750 I get the ERR message when I switch the camera on sometimes but it clears once I've pressed the shutter release button fully. The only other time I got it was due to dirty contacts.

Will the shutter fire if you remove the lens and set it to Manual?
Would rule the body out.

I think I've had the ERR message on my D7200 when I forgot to switch it off before changing a lens - turning it off, lens off and back on and turn it on again sorted it.

Thanks for the advice, I swapped the SD card out of another camera, all seemed fine and then after 15 photos the Error returned.
