Good Evening All,

First time i've ever posted on this site however over the years many a problem has been solved by lurking on the forum smile

Basically, i'm selling a MK7 golf DSG which i've owned since 2020, regularly serviced & extremely well looked after. i Bought it with 40k on the clock in the midst of COVID and have only put about 25/30k on in that time as a change of work and house now means ive been doing about 30/40 miles a week at most which does warrant owning a diesel and also i believe isn't very healthy for its components.

i believe it was some sort of fleet car before hand and all services/work were conducted by VW dealers as shown in the service book and since ive owned it all work and servicing has been done at my local. as ive come to sell it ive realised i have lost the service book which has really miffed me off as its personally something i would like to be present when buying a car, i have photos of said service entries from when i was preparing to sell before moving but no physical copy,

my question is this; How likely is it that this will render the car worthless? and will it hinder the sale? ideally id like to get rid asap as ive got my eyes on a few potential options for new cars and need the money however this need for a genuine quick sale coupled with the lack of service history may seem dodgy to prospective buyers!

sorry for the rambling, hope everyone had a good new years!

Go to your local VW dealer with V5 and driving licence and ask them for a copy of the digital service history.

Unless you have invoices to prove it then its not FSH.

If it has a DSB and they have been logged you should be able to see these yourself once registered

If it’s a MK7 I’m surprised it came with a service book, nonetheless it should still be logged on the Erwin system if the initial services were main dealer. I have access to this, if you PM me your chassis number I’ll find out whether the initial services were logged.
