I love the "natural" reaction i get from kids (ie not trained by society or by apparently knowledgeable older people who probably dont have a clue about TVRs, and therefore have no opinion or preconception good or otherwise; and they dont worry about things like MPG or reliability either).

For instance I came howling through a tunnel yesterday, lifted off (BANG CRACKLE BANG POP!) and saw a toddler, back facing to me, jump and run a couple of metres away from the road in fright, then spun round and screamed "WOW LOOK AT THAT!!!" pointing excitedly.

You can't beat that sort of response!

Duxford, when I could finally let rip all legal like.
All praise to the organisers.
Tunnels were made for TVR's so any of them count as a good moment as well.
Rumbling past Cardiff Castle and tourist's camera's get diverted to me.

last year i was lucky enough to go to Imola with easytrack. the whole week was terrific (obviously), but the icing on the cake was after luunch on track day.
the first session was packed out, every one out.
waited 20 mins and sat on pit lane...the marshal let me on!! so after a couple of laps to warm up the car...EVERYONE CAME IN!
it was 35 degrees or so and everyones tyres were starting to overheat. so i just kept lapping. had about seven or so laps on my own at IMOLA, 'bout 3 weeks after the grand prix. just kept getting better and better. as the track was clear i could spend the time drifting the car through the esses etc, kept the speed down to 80 /90 and concentrated on the slides.
don't think it will get any better than that...
but i'll keep working on it!

There have been many, but I suppose the most fundamental one was bringing home my first TVR. That's something you can only do once.

Having owned the Griffith for only 9 hours and racing around the Peripherique with the roof off through all those tunnels.

Magic moment ...

Best moment ... every time the car starts.

Worst ... the one time it did't.

Other than that, looking at the face of the driver behind when flames lick out of the exhaust ... even though you can't see it yourself whilst driving you can always tell by the reaction of the driver behind

Not really relevant, but I've just realised that smiley in the post above is a 'cloud 9'... I thought for some reason it was a baby in a pink romper suit. Couldn't quite see the connection... more brandy needed methinks.

Best TVR moment... every time I get into a discussion about cars and someone asks me "What do you drive?"... it doesn't matter to them WHICH TVR it is, just that it has the magic 3 letters on the front.
In fact I once said "It only has 3 letters on the badge", to which I got the predictable "BMW".
Then some comedian said "ERF" and another wag came up with "DAF". Could've been worse, could've been ZIL, ZIS, DKW, NSU (Ro80 excluded!), FSO or MGB...

Up near Pitlochry recently visiting Scotlands smallest distillery (not its not that!). Arrived in a very quiet car park where 4 empty coaches were parked. Went on the tour which closed at 5.00pm to return back to the car at the same time as everone else was leaving. Must have had 100+ people, mostly Spanish/German/Italian, crowded around the Tuscan as we (looking slightly embarrassed) returned to it. Had a major photo call for everyone and let a couple of the Spanish guys have a sit in. All very good humoured and left the car park with raptous applause and waving from everyone. You could only get that with a TVR - amazing.

Wedg1e has a point. I found myself in a Mitsubishi/Rover dealership earlier this year (I have an excuse, a friend had a Galant with some sort of problem). While he was getting seen to and I was browsing the cars, a saleschappie came up and tried to get me excited about the MG Rover. I politely said I had a TVR Griffith. He went away...

Some of my best TVR momments have been. Picking my car up after having a super sports exhaust fitted by RT racing, tears of laughter for at least a fortnight. The day i found the TVR i was looking for after going to five dealerships and traded in the z3. Le Mans track day before the race 2002. Meeting other TVR owners who all seem to share my enthusiasm. 160MPH at Elvington Airfield. Test driving a Cerbera. Out of petrol on the M1 was a classic "I can make it to the next services." "Oh no! I cant." Knowing that i couldnt have spent 25 grand on anything that would make me this extaticly happy with the exception of a 4.5 Cerbera. Meeting Peter Wheeler at Donington.
The Top Ten Expressions From People
1. Nice Car Mate!
2. T.V.(did'nt catch the rest)
3. Gi it sum!
4. What's that!
5. Is it fast? (always makes me chuckle)
6. Chimaera
7. What ya ad out of it? How fast is it?
8. Sounds good that! (usualy from the older generation)
9. Get a Cerbera/ Tuscan
10. Wa***r (usualy from some jelous ar**hole)

Have i missed any? S3TAY

Well not sure if this really counts, but a few weeks back, after a night out, I brought a young lady back to my place. She had said earlier that she liked cars, so I showed her the Chimaera. Needless to say, I was nuts deep about 10 minutes later.

There's not much room for that kind of activity in a Chimaera though is there. Mind you i am 6ft 4inches. (high that is!)

A bit of creative thinking is all it takes.

Either that or just take her upstairs....

Sounds like a truly great TVR momment! But was She as enjoyable as a Sunday drive or track day? Impossible i think.

Well, probably not if truth be told. She didnt warrant a phone call after. Taking an s-bend at 70 and getting it just right is better!!
