How is Paramount Plus so woeful???
Discussion
I suppose the "try it for a whole year for £35" offer should've set some alarm bells ringing, but my lord, I wasn't expecting it to be quite this utterly dreadful!!!
1. There's next to no content.
2. If I watch it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ the toolbar at the bottom of the screen that normally fades out after a couple of seconds doesn't fade at all, so I'll sit there watching what little content there is with the Netflix logo reminding me it's only a click away!
3. If I move to my phone - a Galaxy S23 Ultra - I don't even get that far! I find something to watch, click on it and... err... it invites me to install the app that I already have installed in Google Play?!?!? Not update it - it's the most up to date there is - actually install what has already been installed!
4. Let's move to my TV then. A Philips OLED that also happens to run Android. Yay! I can actually watch stuff without anything on screen, but about half the time the feedback is jerky, and it also doesn't seem to record what I've actually watched!
You'd think I could turn off part way through an episode, come back and have a one or two click way to start watching it again? Nope! The "continue watching" space is just blank, and if I go to the episode listing for a series, there's nothing to say whether I've watched any of them or not!
It's just how I imagine a Netflix pitch meeting being back in around 2005, with the engineers presenting a mixture of slideware, smoke & mirrors and a really ropey Alpha release, constantly accompanied by the phrase "I want you to use your imagination here"!
Why would anyone with any sort of reputation they want to uphold release this sort of half baked dog egg???

Some great shows on Paramount+
I have none of the issues you describe, works exactly the same as Netflix etc for me.
Most have it as part of another subscription rather than standalone though don’t they?
I pay €2.49 / mth for SkyShowTime and get Paramount+, Sky, Showtime, Universal and Dreamworks in that package.
Bargain.

A weedy selection of TV, but some quality titles, the films are fairly numerous. It would work out at a few pence per title that grabbed me so not horrific value-wise.
I wonder when these streamers will figure out that the reason streaming took off in the first place is because it wasn't a fractured mess.

Just tried to continue watching something on my 23 Ultra via the app, kicks me out and want to install it again. Pathetic!!
ETA: installed the one recommended, and it wants me to sign up and pay again after signing in. I'm already a paid member.ETA to the ETA: that's not an edit, this is.
i invested for a year as there was some stuff on it that we wanted to watch, It's annoying that it doesn't give any indication as to which episodes of a series you have watched, the resume thing i'm not sure has ever picked up from where we've left off. Main TV is a ROKU based TV, It refuses to work on my ipad.
Wife reports it works ok on her chromeboook.
Content is ok, but i can see us getting through all the stuff we want to watch in a couple of months so will be keeping an eye on it to see what gets added.
Cancelled Disney and Apple tv as neither of them were getting used so we're a couple of quid up for a while.
