So waiting on a new van that has been leased via a large national vehicle leasing company, the van will be supplied by a Nissan dealer.

The van was delivered to the dealer last Friday, but has not yet been PDI'd.

They won't arrange a delivery date until its been PDI'd.

So how long does it generally take for the PDI to get completed?

I would have thought a couple of days max? or has a problem likely been found?

No more than an hour including fitment of number plates.

Can do it same day if they really want to, but they seem to always have a backlog, which seems to be more around the handover than the PDI and valet.

Ask the leasing company? It is their van.

I’d expect up to a week between delivery to dealer and delivery to customer.

The PDI itself takes an hour, 90 minutes max. The issue is that you’re not the only customer. If the van arrived late Friday, and most dealers only work half a day Saturday on service, and not at all on a Sunday. Arguably you’re only 3 working days in.

Normally 2-3 days from when it’s delivered to the dealership.

If the after sales department are particularly busy, and the workshop hours are fully booked up (which isn’t unusual) it can take up to 2 weeks.

The pdi itself 20 mins or so most dealers main pdi involves checking levels tyre pressure taking it out of transport mode fitting plates then its out the door. Some are even done at the ports when they arrive kia for example.
The process longer from when the car arrives the sales team sort out their end get issued to the workshop who will fit it in around service work then to be cleaned and then hand over.

Took a couple of hours when we turned up to collect daughters new car a few weeks ago - sales guy was off sick and the pdi hadn’t been done.

Thanks, i will give them a little longer before i chase up again.

I did send them an email yesterday morning asking for an update, but did not get a reply….

Its odd as it was sold as a Pre-Reg, but its not been registered yet with DVLA, even though they have told me the registration plate number. And the paper work states it was registered on the 1st December…

So they called yesterday, and are delivering it on Wednesday. So not too bad.

So looks like a week from delivered to dealer to ready.

Since its an EV van (Nissan Townstar), i wonder if the dealer fully charges it for the driver?
Or some poor chap turns up to drive it from Stoke-on-trent to Bristol, with 0 charge and multiple charge stops...

In fact in this temperature, im not sure it will actually make it on 1 charge..
