Long term parking at Heathrow
Discussion
We're going on a transatlantic cruise in a few months, we're joining it in Miami and leaving in Lisbon. Our flights are from and back to Heathrow.
It occurred to me last night that we are using separate terminals for this, T3 and T2 respectively. I usually like to park on site and fortunately it looks as if it's walkable between the two, so if we park up at T3 long term and then come back into T2 we can walk across and pickup the bus to the T3 car park.
Does anyone have any experience of doing this and are there any gotchas I'm not considering?

How long are you thinking ?
If it’s more than a couple of weeks, I’d be considering whether it makes more sense to book a car and driver to take you and pick you up rather than leave the car at the wrong terminal? It’s a nicer experience imho.
If you are going to do the 2 terminal thing, I’d advise leaving the car in the car park of the arrival terminal as it’s easier to go through the faffing on the way out. On the return, I just want the simplest way to get home.

We're away for 15 nights. If it’s more than a couple of weeks, I’d be considering whether it makes more sense to book a car and driver to take you and pick you up rather than leave the car at the wrong terminal? It’s a nicer experience imho.

I have looked at the airport drop off and collection before, but as we're just outside of Lincoln, it's fortunes, at least twice what it costs for the airport parking and my own fuel.
I parked for 14 days in the T2 long term car park in October last, the same pick-up/drop-off bus served both T2 and T3 (at least that was the sign on the top of the bus, scroll down the page on this link to see the bus: https://www.heathrow.com/transport-and-directions/...
Hey OP, I was looking into long term parking for Heathrow for a trip to the US over Christmas and ended up using the official T5 long stay - I know, not what you're looking for BUT
I noticed that several hotels near Heathrow were offering a room for the night before and parking for the duration of your trip for around the same as the cost for the official parking sites. Might be worth thinking about if you're coming down from Lincoln.
Hotel shuttles / the Hotel Hoppa (for which there is a charge) will serve all terminals.
Just a thought.

Ah, so it's the same car park?As above T2 and T3 share the same long stay and business car parks so no need to transfer between the terminals as the buses drop off and pick up from both.
If business parking is cheapish it can be worth it. T2 and 3 long stay has always been a bit hit and miss in terms of transfer time for me.

When I finally went to book, the Meet and Greet was only an extra tenner. That’s all done via the short stay car parks and you can specify which terminal you are departing from and coming back into so I went for that.
Its always worth checking the available options as you often find something more conveinient than long term is available at negligible extra cost. At T5 I've often found short stay is only 10 or 20 quid more than long stay.Silverage said:

Result. I’ll never understand their pricing structure but you’ve done well out of it!djc206 said:

Well it was £220 for 15 days so they’re not exactly giving it away. Still, it’ll cost me less than £20 in fuel so the total job is less than half what getting a drop-off and pickup from a local firm would have been.I'm currently parked in the T2/3 long term car park, one thing I noticed is that you can get 30 mins free to drop off pick up which would have been handy to know when dropping off my daughter last month.
Well it's my car in the car park, not me. I'm currently having breakfast sitting by the Zambezi in Zambia.

If cost was a key factor it's easier to use the train or bus.Gassing Station | Holidays & Travel | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
