I imagine they will supply some cold weather gear?

Get some really good socks and take advice on what ones to get that won’t make your feet sweat. Take a few sets.

It was minus 21 when we landed. We took thermals etc but ended up buying extra stuff there and hired really cold weather stuff.

When we landed at the airport there were buildings with hire clothes for extreme weather. Might be worth checking if still available.

Canada goose stuff is an expensive brand but good gear.

Also look on the sites like heinie Haynes. I have some carnithia over trousers that are great.

The key is layering and start with good thermals.

Yup layering, starting with thermals, lots of thin layers are the best bet and can be removed as necessary. Any decent coat / jacket on top will be fine if the base layers are there. Decent 2 layer hat.
Minus 21 is not too bad when it’s “dry” cold.
Do take sun block, lip balm and sunglasses. If it’s a sunny day you can get sun burnt on the bits that stick out.
Enjoy it’s great fun.

Very much this - have a look at guides for skiers/snowboarders as this is the same problem, doubly so with high altitudes.
