Sorry for starting another similar thread but when I thought about do I enjoy driving what was relevant to me was how often. I still love driving but I have found that opportunities to drive somewhere in a nice car and have a bit of fun on the road have dropped drastically, because of other traffic, bad roads, other drivers and extreme penalties for speeding.
I enjoy the dynamics of driving, as such I always prefer to be the driver rather than a passenger. I usually always enjoy the act of driving, but sometimes the drive itself can be ruined by other drivers who simply see driving as a chore; they don't really pay any special attention to what they're doing or care about improving their own driving, the usual MLM culprits, white van man, the 40-everywhere brigade and those whole generally display a lack of courtesy towards others. That's what takes the enjoyment out of driving; other drivers.
i think my answer is 'As often as i want to'
most of the time i'm driving because i want to get somewhere, either commuting for work, or driving in to town for shopping. those drives are fine, nothing special. the daily is perfectly comfortable, torquey enough and automatic, so stress free.
however, if i want to go out for a drive, then i'll take the weekend car, and go enjoy some nice country roads, either around where i live in the north cotswolds, or over at my dads in north/mid wales.
the weekend car is probably driven 1 in 10 times on average, id say.

Its getting less often as I am driving a lot for work at the moment which means busy roads and lots of traffic so I am tired and can't be bothered to go out for a fun drive in the evenings and weekends. This will probably change when the better, warmer weather comes in a few months. Last fun drive was on New Years Eve, I chose to drive to our friends party rather than take the train or taxi and it was great, roads were dead at 8pm on NYE and 1am on NYD.
I generally enjoy every drive in some way or other. That said I've moved from away from just inside the M25 to a really rural location and in turn locally you get little traffic. I'm on an A road but there's almost never queues of cars locally and even at weekends, local roads are quite quiet.
It's far nicer on those kinds of drives than battling through traffic or sitting at traffic lights. On the occasions I've driven into Bristol it's been a bit less fun I must admit.

Interesting thread.
It's getting more and more difficult to enjoy a good drive, certainly in a performance car.
This weekend I was in Wales and it was......a mess.
a) Several good roads have now been reduced to 40 mph / average speed
b) Walkers and bad parking. I was flashed by oncoming traffic several times, warning of unseen danger. Turned out to be cars that had been very badly parked on the road. When the designated beauty spot car parks fill up, the walkers park anywhere irrespective of safety.
c) Scamera vans. For several miles the road through Storey Arms has been made a 30 zone. But not happy with that, there was a scamera van parked attempting to catch people accelerating OUT OF the 30 zone! Revenue generating.
I'm thinking less power and drives at night are the answer

Given my very lucky position to own (what I'd call) two awesome cars, I need to make much more effort this spring/summer to go and enjoy some driving. I ticked the once a quarter box for now. For example I've owned my Focus RS for at least two months, and this weekend just gone is the first time I've actually taken it further than a few miles and seen what its capable of. It really is a waste to have these two parked up in my garage not being enjoyed. Bring on April ASAP!
It depends what I'm driving....
Ford GT (now sold). Every drive was enjoyable and made interesting by being LHD with zero visibility at junctions.
Tesla Rarely 'enjoy' a drive in the sense the OP means - but I enjoy remote aircon (de-icing and pre-cooling) etc and the ease of ownership. A very easy, quick and cheap driving appliance. Love it!
Morgan Aero 8. Enjoy every drive - but it's on SORN half the year.

Those two things make it near impossible to properly enjoy the drive IMO. It's getting more and more difficult to enjoy a good drive, certainly in a performance car.

A few times a year for me - If I were to pick a figure, probably around 5.
The daily is a boring 520d, not very inspiring, so is driven normally 99.9% of the time.
Between April - October, the M5 available when I fancy going for a drive.
Timing is key, the best times I find are either very early (5am) or late (after 10.30) during the summer days - I'm handy to both North Wales / Cumbria.
Although most popular / main routes have the likes of average speed, there are still plenty of interesting roads to itch the scratch.
