what would you buy other than chim????

hello,
i was just thinking(doesnt happen too often youll be glad to know) what car could you get if chims werent available.....what could you get that was 10-15k,fast,sound good,look good,convertible and quite rare in a way as you dont see them everyday do you?
bmw convertible---boring,see everyday
lotus/vauxhall 220-----small,basic interior,not such a headturner
jag xk8 conv------ok but not as impressive
what do you think,i think i would have a cerb if i couldnt have chim(i know its not convertible).cant think of any other cars that have all the factors or nearly!!!what would you swap your chim for if you had to??????? rob:idea:

I am afraid that I have already decided....I am looking for another Cerby next. The Chim is great, and novel being able to take the roof off, but a Cerby is the one for me. (Ideally I will keep the Chim as well....just don't tell the other half quite yet)

Don't mean to hijack the post, but Podie what are Marcos cars really like?? I know many who have admired them but no-one who has owned one.

The new ones are a slightly different kettle of fish to the older ones... not had too much experience of the newer cars; and I should point out that I've not owned a Marcos. Yet.

I've driven a few and found them to be a similar driving experience to the TVR really... just quirky in a slightly different way. There is just something about them that appeals to me...

Have a nose round on PH... I'm sure there is a review of a Marcos somewhere...

Does the 10-15k limit go then? If so I have a bit of a shopping list.
Cerbera, highly likely - if only Fernies would let me know when the right colour comes in, come on you lurkers, you know I'm waiting!

However, should I get my way (and I'm working damn hard on this one) there is the slightest hint of an opportunity to be very silly, my list will change but I'm not sure what to do.
1. Gallardo - After the weekend blast in Ray's this really has shot to the top of the list. Or.
2. Bentley Continental Flying Spur - The bonus of this is that I could ditch the company car and still be able to cart the family/in-laws around

Either way - The Chimaera stays!

Tuscan, I know they've been plagued with problems, but I think they're gorgeous.

Its just going to be a while before they are in the 10-15k bracket!!

Porsche 968 Club Sport? However, if i was to get another car other then a TVR, i would buy another Lancia Delta Integrale (one of the last evo 2 models). Now that was a head turner.

TBH If I were to move away from TVR I'd go to my 2nd choice when originally choosing my Chim - C5/C6 Corvette.

i like the classic corvette idea,they sound the boollocks and quite rare.....but it looks like most of us would stay the tvr route....i fancy a cerb but its the cant take the roof off that makes me think!!!and definitely tuscan but a bit too much for me.
