There are YouTube channels "Just rolled in" and "Customer states" that show video of the HORRENDOUS car faults seen in US workshops.

Most are because there is no MoT in the US; individual states have their own regulations, some none at all.


Is there a UK equivalent, and if not, is the MoT that saves us from these rolling death traps?

The emissions inspections in most states are just a case of plugging in an OBD Scanner and checking for "Ready" Statuses / Emissions DTCs.

Lots of videos of corroded frames, bluetooth engine mounts, etc etc... As long as it isn't obvious enough to get you pulled over!
