Hi all, over the Xmas break I did a 500+ mile trip catching up with family and had some engine issues.....
- Starting with a check engine light & Emissions Service required,
- Then slowing to a stop at a junction the engine stalled (Sportshift),
- Then on a later drive, slowing from 50+ for a roundabout there was a red engine warning, the engine went into limp mode and I had to coast to a stop somewhere safe. Switched off and then was able to restart the engine.

Eventually made it back home and was able to plug in an OBD reader and do some fault finding and DIY servicing.
It turned out the engine air intake filters were dated Sep 2015 (5 months older than the car) and absolutely full of crud..

On a 2016 V8 Vantage S, 34,000 miles, full Aston Main Dealer service history, 7 service stamps in the book - all at the same dealer.

I have since done 250 miles with no re-occurrence of the issues. Maybe worth checking when your air filters were last changed smile

I assume you've had words with the relevant dealer? Should be check as a minimum at 20,000 miles, according to the handbook

No reason to check when my air filters were changed because I have my car serviced properly by an independent specialist.

The situation with air filters not being changed by main dealers is, as far as I know, a consequence of the fixed price servicing which doesn't follow the service schedule properly. Go figure.
