Does anyone else remember a series on TV in the 90s which was a series of extremely varied driving challenges. Don't recall if it was just random people or actual racing drivers competing.
From memory there was autotrials, trailer reversing and off-road sporting trial buggys.
Ring any bells to anyone?

Driving force?

I did "Driver of the year" which I got to the finals. I was only 17.
Heats were at Donnington. Final was at Silverstone. Auto cross, skid pan and then lap time round the track.
Pressure got to me at Silverstone, I didnt know the track and it was really foggy. On my runs the fog just seemed to come down (racing driver excuses!).
I still got a runner up prize (trip to the British GP).

Definately sounds like the original Driving Force which was on BBC1 in the 1980's/90's.

It paired a celebrity of the time with a racing driver to compete in varous tasks.

Have found this episode on You Tube, I'm sure others are on there too.

Sounds like Driving Force on the BBC, presented by Mike Smith.

Ha! I was thinking of this the other day and definitely not 'Driving Force' as others suggested. The contestants were random people and not celebs and racing drivers. Filming was done at the Chatsworth House estate.
