Can anyone help with this? I have no cars but this came
Up today. It’s an electric brake.

It didn’t let me put handbrake on when I flicked it. Turned car off and back on and then it did.

When I started the car after work it came
On after a few minutes. When I stopped it worked fine.

Any ideas
? Does it sound expensive if it needs looking at?

Thank you if anyone can help.

If this is the first time, and only time. Then I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet.

If it happens again, then yes it will need looked at.

Sort of worst case scenario may be that it sticks on, and leaves you unable to drive.

Well it happens this morning and then after work.

If it needs fixing what could be the worst case scenario? Would that be expensive?

Sorry I have no knowledge of cars at all

It really just depends what the fault is.

Looking at some parts prices, a caliper could be anywhere from £100-200 or so. Would need specific model to get a price

Labour should not be terrible to change, if indeed that is the problem

It could be one caliper, both calipers, wiring, or other problem. Until someone looks at it, just can't say. But parts, labour and who knows what other issues may be worth addressing at the time, it could be a few hundred. Or it might be something more simple, and much less.
Just impossible to say without seeing it

It doesn't sound an old car ? Is it under any sort of warranty ?
