Hi All
Apologies if I have missed a pointer to this somewhere else on the site, but I have 100s of car mags dating back to the 1980s - mix of Autocar, What Car?, Motor, Car and Top Gear (but mostly the first two).
I don't want to put them in landfill before finding out whether anyone would like them...
They are free to anyone who can collect them from Mid-Hants.
Alternatively, please suggest any other avenues I could pursue in getting them to a good home.
Thanks
Stephen

Sorry for a thread hi-jack, but if anyone near Liverpool wants potentially 50 years of Motorsport Magazine, they're more than welcome to them.
My dad is downsizing his home and he's subscribed to them my whole life (still gets them). I've not seen the collection for at least 30 years, but he says my mum always worried the loft was going to collapse.

I'm only just over the border from North Hants - whereabouts are you?
PM me if you'd rather have a private conversation.
Sorry for my ignorance - am new to an account on Pistonheads, though have been visiting idly for years... How do I PM you through this forum?? I can't see how to do it!I'm only just over the border from North Hants - whereabouts are you?

I collected them for years, the top of my wardrobe was full of Autocar and had other piles of other mags, was all in date order.
My mate asked me for some specific info on a car he was thinking of buying so looked at the index and grabbed 4 or 5 mags that had relevant info, he had a look then his mum threw them away without asking him.
I was mightily pissed off as my perfect collection now had gaps, I did consider ordering the missing ones to restore order, then thought b
ks to it and put them in the "Loot" magazine free to anyone who wanted to collect them, a bloke in a minibus turned up and took the lot.
In hindsight it was a good thing, as it broke the hoarding instinct, you may never know when you want the Autocar from the 13th of May 1987 with the Fiat Croma facelift review !
Was a wrench but I got over it, then the internet came in a few years later and I never buy magazine now, I ended my Autocar subscription after like 35 years recently, but wasnt reading it every week.
I am not anti hoarding stuff, you pay all that money for a house with space, and all the ongoing bills to heat and light it, never mind the council tax, insurance etc, then fill it with piles of old s
te like thousands of car magazines. We need to help a relative move who has never thrown anything out in 50 plus years, as as the space so you default to hoard mode, its going to be a challenge as even letting go of old carpet remnants is difficult for them.
